The Denver Museum of Nature and Science was founded in 1900, began as a little log cabin in the mountains, and in 1908, a new building was constructed in Denver’s City Park. It was soon opened to the public, and the museum began to develop and expand with programs, exhibits, research, and a number of activities that have made it what it is today.

Essentially, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is the leading resource for informal science education of the Rocky Mountain region, where a wide range of activities including exhibitions and special programs that allow visitors come into contact with the natural wonders of Colorado, our planet, and beyond. The Museum is constantly inspiring curiosity and exciting the minds of people of all ages through the scientific discovery and the presentation of the unique treasures of the world as well as their preservation.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science offers lectures, exhibitions, films, classes, programs and other activities in different fields, including anthropology, geology, paleontology, health science, space science, and zoology. It has awarded with the accreditation by the American Association of Museums, which certifies that the organization provides quality service to the public and manages it collections with utmost responsibility.
