Colorado History Museum
Colorado History Museum is a place to step back in time and discover the past. It is a place that brings to your imagination covered wagons, Indian buffalo hunts, Buffalo fur trappers, mining in the Rocky Mountains, and life in a Denver of another time. The Colorado History Museum is full with incredible collections, historic photographs, artifacts, detailed dioramas, and all kind of relics. You may also find special galleries with changing exhibits about the culture and life in the American West.
This museum was built in 1977, and it holds a large compilation of historic and prehistoric documents and objects. The building also serves as the headquarters for the Colorado Historical Society, and presents exhibitions and educational programs. Additionally, you can find inside the museum other interesting institutions such as the Office of Archeology and Historic Preservation, the Stephen H. Hart Library, as well as membership services. And do not forget the magnificent Colorado History Museum Store, in which you can find a complete selection of books about Colorado and the American West, in addition to an exclusive collection of Indian handicraft and Colorado art.
