Trying to Preserve More Animals

The number of endangered species around the world is alarming because it provokes a lot of alterations affecting the environment and the natural course of life. For this reason, more and more zoos are concerned about the lack of preservation and responsibility on behalf of governmental entities and citizens as well, to guarantee a clean and safe atmosphere to the animals and visitors.

Before this situation, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has created a Master Plan to provide you with better quality of services and accommodations. By making the necessary changes, there will not be deteriorating buildings and exhibits but a redefining zoo instead, to implement active participation of people, so that they become aware of having respect for wildlife. The plan also includes the development of sloped walking paths across the Cheyenne Zoo.

When visiting Cheyenne Zoo, people may see some exotic animal species such as grizzly bear, mountain lion, moose, and lynx. Indeed, it is home to more than 750 animals, from which over 32 are considered as threatened. Although numbers are alarming, it is possible to help these creatures to survive by not polluting our environment and by being aware of their role to keep an adequate balance in nature.

The Cheyenne Zoo is not only a major tourist attraction in Colorado but also a significant partner in educational and community programs. The main purpose is to train kids how to treat and behave toward animals and to provide teachers with workshops wherein they learn how to impart zoo education in the classroom. And, the most important goal of Cheyenne Zoo is to offer recreational activities and fun to enjoy the experience of being with plants and animals.
